High Point Market 2019 Fall Preview
NOT TO MISS BRANDS AT HIGH POINT MARKET:
Next month, I am heading to High Point Market! While I have been attended the world’s largest furnishings market many times now, I never tire of the pilgrimage to home fashion week in High Point, North Carolina. I’m starting to get excited as I plan my agenda with new collections, new lines, and the parties of course.
From panels to book signings to sourcing, this is what I’m looking forward to next month. I’ve been chosen to be a part of the Design Bloggers Tour for High Point Market VIP MARKET TOUR this fall! I’m so excited and honored to be part of this fabulous group as an ambassador TrendSpotter.
Get The Scoop on High Point Market
I am so excited to share with you all the is happening at High Point Market, because you’re getting the inside scoop, in-depth tour, and backstage views to all the latest and greatest home design trends.
Designers attend insider Market Events to get out of the office and see the latest introductions and updates from the market in person. It makes me a better designer, especially when acting as a brand ambassador on a personal tour.
It’s so important and an opportunity to see design trends that are pushing to the front ( like the presence of purple in furniture, textiles, and lighting!! ).

Are you a designer interested in attending High Point Market? Here are some of my tips, and expectations
What You Will See and Learn From High Point Market
1. Expect to be running into everyone you've ever worked with on the plane
Yep. Its fun, but If loungewear is your usual apparel of choice for travel, you may want to rethink that choice. You can expect to run into everyone you've ever worked with, for, and around, or are hoping to impress on a single-aisle jet to Greensboro that somehow carries the entire design industry from your area that week. A plane to NC full of New Yorkers happens only 2 times a year, so make sure you are prepared to smile and shine (at 6am)
2. Running into everyone else you know at the Proximity
Now you have spent a full day at the market, but you are craving a good meal ( which is hard to find in NC) So you check into the Proximity, and even though you think you’ve seen everyone you know already, you will meet even more in the hallways and restaurant. This is the place to be.
Other notables, the scene in Oly's High Point showroom, Currey and Co for lunch, and Four Hand for the evening party.
3. Pimento cheese, egg salad, and chili at the Parson's Table
Admit it: You were a bit skeptical the first time you were ushered into a church basement in downtown High Point with assurances that it held the best lunch in town (we all were). Lo and behold, the women of High Point's First United Methodist church do not disappoint: With their Southern hospitality and gentle-but-firm maternal urging, you're sure to leave stuffed with pimento cheese and more desserts than you'd care to count. When in Rome.
4. Eating like you'll never see the South again
The food fest continues beyond the parish hall, no urging necessary. Whether your vice of choice is a Cookout milkshake, a Bojangles biscuit sandwich, or some good old-fashioned southern BBQ, one thing is certain: There's no juice cleansing in High Point.
5. Shopping
From the biannual Mottahedeh sale to Mr. Brown's warehouse and the barn at Schwung Home, there are endless opportunities to add to the weight of your carry-on—or to make use of no fewer than 14 tote bags you're likely to have accrued by the end of the week.
