Design Advice Made Simple *NEW* Did you know we offer Online E- Design Services?

This was a fun e-design project that I recently completed. The results were pretty great, and the client agreed to share all the resources with my readers. Here’s a peek into a bathroom online design project via our Online E - Design service via email and how it works.

We do not have the budget for custom cabinetry,

When we provide an E-Design service, we present a survey to fill in with 2-3 questions you would like to cover.

Online E-Design- Bathroom Mood Board. From the intake survey, the client shared a few images and mentioned that a custom vanity wasn't in the budget and she need help to put all the pieces together. But, not to worry, because, from my library of sources, I found this latest Pottery Barn collection in weathered oak and figured it was a great dupe for the expensive custom-made vanity the client had on her inspiration board. This vanity is stylish and in the right size and available right away! It quickly became the main feature and our starting point.

I was first seduced into exploring the latest Pottery Barn collection by the beautiful Sausalito Vanity, shown above, which was a great dupe for an expensive custom cabinet the client had seen on Pinterest and lusted after for inspiration.

Then I found this affordable yet stylish Linen Roman Shade and this luxurious sheepskin rug. I bought 2 of these towel sets on sale for my son, ( yes, when looking for clients I always find something for me, it’s an occupational hazard) and the latest crave is a vintage milking stool or  THIS.

Great style and affordable pieces that will make any bathroom remodel look pretty fabulous.

BEST PRACTICES

Tile and Stone:

1 Select materials thoughtfully and layer them with care

2 Make certain that grids align from floor to wall

3 There should be no unsightly cuts (plan ahead)

4 Use the smallest grout joints possible

5 Select grout color in the planning phase

6. Dry lay the material by opening all boxes and blending material for color variation

7 Request that your installer make a small sampling of his installation with grout on a piece of plywood or drywall

8. Vet your contractor by viewing completed projects he has done before

9 Select your contractor by the quality of his work and not the price
